Fitmate Web App
In this UX project for one of my masters’ courses, I worked with a group of six designers to come up with a web application for independent trainers. My team and I researched, brainstormed, conducted user interviews and did user testing to come up with a solution. We then, designed and prototyped our new solution for the needs of our target audience. Ultimately, we created a business proposal to present our final product called Fitmate.
My team and I identified a problem in our research for a new product. Independent trainers uses many different platforms for completing administrative tasks, such as scheduling clients and collecting payments, and have little knowledge about marketing their brand.
But while trainers scramble to stay competitive and establish their online presence, what is being done to support their growing businesses?
Our team set out to explore just that.
To solve this opportunity, we created our user, Taylor. Taylor is based in Barcelona and has been a certified trainer for 5 years, she works alone and manages her own time and schedule. Due to the pandemic, the majority of her clients prefer to train online more than in person. And she had to improvise and learn along the way how to run her online training business.
To help Taylor, my team and I found a solution. We created: Fitmate.
The product, Fitmate, users would have full access to: A.I Workout suggestions, integrated chat and video calls with clients, payment tracking, and the possibility to participate in social impact events.
Fitmate would offer a Free option where users can have a glimpse of the product’s potential. User who purchase premium plans would offer more for their clients, no advertisements, unlimited social media templates, the option to customize branding and automated design for marketing material.
To grasp the potential of Fitmate, my team and I wanted to focus on the independent trainers’ market size in 2 target markets: USA and Spain.
In 2021, the number of independent trainers in the USA was 300.000 and this number was 45.000 for Spain in 2018.
If we take Fitmate’s average price (€35), our market value is of €10.800.000 in the USA in 2020 and €1.500.000 in Spain with the number of 2018. This figure is one of the proofs of our solution’s potential
My team and I had a look into the current companies that aim to address this problem as well and why we think our solution has key differences. As we compared other companies, my team and I proud are to affirm that Fitmate is the solution that gives the most benefits to independent trainers.
